Hi,
I'm using Outlook paired with gmail to manage my e-mail.
For some reason, Outlook will let me receive new mail, but it won't send any out. The messages I write just set in the outbox. Any ideas about how I can fix the problem? Do i need to buy a new copy of WindowEyts
No, Window Eyes should have nothing to do with this.
Do you ahve the right outgoing SMPT server (it comes with your internet service, not with GMail), usually that is the problem with outgoing mail, it goes through the SMPT server, not GMails server.
I've used Outlook and Gmail for the longest time without issues.
Check this first and see if it works.
Cheers

I have used it as well for months with no trouble. Recently, though, it has not been working. Could the smtp server settings have been changed somehow?
Have you changed ISP's or anything like that? Some ISP's (and colleges are even worse about this sometimes), stop you from using any SMTP server but theirs. Something could've changed your settings too, any programs you've installed recently?
I haven't changed ISP's.
installed C-cleaner, a virus scan software, but that's it.
its really frustrating me!!
Hi,
I tried changing my profile by deleting m old one and creating a new one, but it didn't seem to make a difference.
Any help/hints would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
What ISP do you have, have you checked with them wha the outgoing smpt server should be?
Have you tried any other mail program, like Outlook Express, Windows Mail or so on, to send messages, to see if it is an Outlook problem?
When you send, does the item just get stuck in your outbox or does it not even make it there?
I do remember once I had an issue where I accidentally tried to send a mail with a large attachment, it ever got sent and it sat in the top of my outbox for days, when I deleted it from there all the other emails got sent right away.
So you may want to clean up your outbox, or at least the top message or two and just write them again to see if they are, somehow, holding you up.
Cheers

Thanks for the suggestions.
I think its an Outlook problem.
All my messages go to my out-box, but nowhere from there.
do you have to call your ISP to get the SMTP settings?
yes i would call them and have them read you their settings. I wonder if some setting on their end changed and you didn't know that. Sometimes, internet providers can be real sneaky about that.
